For the very best print results with the A1, naturally Bambu Lab has their own filament:

The Bambu Lab A1 features a 256x256x256mm build volume and many of the usual offerings of a modern 3D printer. This includes a touch screen, wifi connectivity, on board time-lapse camera, and connectivity to the Bambu Handy mobile app. The Bambu Lab A1 can be purchased with the AMS-lite as a combo kit or without. In either configuration it is a great value machine.
The Bambu Studio slicer is also well equipped with a ton of material presets for very popular filament brands and the profiles are well tuned for those brands such as eSun, Polymaker, etc. As you should expect, the Bambu Lab branded filament prints excellent on their own machines.
Featured in this video are all of the prints below which you can find on Bambu Maker World.

Overall, I would recommend the Bambu Lab A1 for beginner and advanced users alike. If you can afford the higher end models like the P1S or X1C I’m certain they will perform even better and you will be able to print more advanced materials that require an enclosure. However, the A1 is great value, and if you don’t need the AMS-Lite system you can also save a lot of money.
Bambu Lab is producing nicely polished machines with less user-development and upgrades required than other brands from what I can see. They’ve done a very nice job of trying to make 3D printing as easy as possible at this stage in the technology.
If you are new to 3D printing I still think you should have realistic expectations of the learning curve involved with the hobby. The machine works well out of the box but if you happen to run into issues you will likely get frustrated at first. Take a deep breath, stick with it and don’t give up! It doesn’t matter if you have a Creality, Bambu Labs, or any other popular high speed printer of this era, eventually you will need to do some troubleshooting. Stick with it!

Dang Ive been wondering if I should set up the a1 and the ams or just start with one spool only and print the top mount kit for the ams
Excellent review. Question, I scrolled the comments and your other videos and didn’t see anything, do you have a tutorial on adding the logo?
This was a fantastic video and very useful, especially on the unboxing and initial setup. Thank you!
Is there any way to use the bleeding colors for infill? Seems like a waste to just poop it out.
For the wifi issue, i think you would need to separate the 2.4 from the 5G. So you would have 2 separate wifi connections instead of them being together and switching automatically between one another.
Question, do you have to have a computer to make it work?
I have rst time trying to get it to work for multiple colors it purged one then cut it went purged that color then snapped the filament trying to reel it back without even cutting it the second time.. super irritated because as soon as you have the ams on there even for a spool holder it dumps 3times the filament for every print right off!! why the heck do they make this thing so wasteful!!!????
Dinu us this video if you have a new A1 combo they changed the design
Thank You, this was like taking a class you actually like!
Takk!
For the wifi problem, you can separate your band widths to 2.4 and 5 on your router, so you have them both.
this is like all in 1 , no questions at all thank you.
Have a question. I have a new A1 Combo and I'm trying to get it connected to Studio (running on a M1 MacBook). When I go to the Device tab & press the + to add a printer, it gives me 2 options; Bind with PIN Code & Bind with Access code. What are these 2 different options? You said to use the PIN code and said something about getting that from the A1's Network settings. I'm not finding that, where is Network? I go to Settings and there's 3 pages of options but no Network. Appreciate any help. Thanks.
The secondary model thing is SO cool, can't wait to play with this 🙂
Hi do you know if i could put a 200 x 200 copper clad pcb on the build plate and print on to it ? Can the Z height be altered or fooled, using this printer.
Thanks
Do you have a video for the bamboo lab A1 that discusses how and when you would use support settings, speed, infield type wall settings?
I am waiting for my 3-D printer to arrive and I would love to know how and when to change or use.
Thank you so much your video helped me a ton🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
When you say to recalibrate when you use offbrand PLA… if you have bamboo filament in two of them and offbrand in the other two, do you still recalibrate everything or do you have to recalibrate each filament spool?
I have not received mine yet, so I do not know any of this, sorry for the questions if you don’t make sense
Just want to say great video! But also a heads up to any recent purchasers, my A1 unboxing and assembly was a little different than this (purchased about 6 months after this video came out). Mine was packaged just as well, but slightly different. Mine did not have screws holding the bed from moving during shipping. My tools were just Allen wrenches, instead of the nice t-handles in the video. Nothing crazy but be sure to read the instructions that come with the printer regardless!
I would use gyroid or cubic
I prefer Gyroid
thx
Bambu needs to pay you
You may not reply But I'm hopping you reply but when you open your bambu lab A1 It include a scraper blade right? Does it also include magnets?
And what about the toxic fumes ?
Is the AMS setup different if you use non-Bambu filament? Also, does it matter how each tube from the AMS goes into the print head? TY
nice video, congrats… i just buy a separate AMS lite (i dont was have a ams, only A1) , with your video i can learn more abou assembly , setup and use ams…tnx !
congrats from brazil
How do I find your swatch container?
Great stuff for beginners like me,thank you.
What's those bricks that get printed at the side of the bed ?
too many adverts watched half of video thats all
I can not recommend the A1 Combo to anyone !!!! Mine printed 3 or 4 FLAWLESS jobs on day 2. Now it has been totally dead since January 5, 2025. With no useful help from Bambu Tech Support at all🤬
Could you show how to add additional objects to a single plate? I find the second plate disappears and I have the original model. Second one disappears.
For those with problems with the eeros router because it does not have a dedicated 2.4 and 5 GHz channels, you can use an option to turn off the 5 GHz Channel temporarily which will allow you to connect your printer to the the router and then the router will turn the 5 gigahertz back on after a short period. I haven't tried this yet because I don't have my printer set up but my understanding is the printer will be able to reconnect even after the 5G turns back on.

One of the most complete A1 setup videos that I have seen. I have watched several and yours is the best. I have an A1 combo on order so this was extremely helpful.
53:03 is Cher's favorite part of the video (If I Could Turn Back Time)
What does it mean when the AMS light blinks and load the filament halfway?
Filament slot 3 and four has never been used, purchased on July 2025. But I can’t find anything that talks about my issue. I would assume that there is filament stuck in the tube, but why would their filament be stuck in the tube if they have never been used before?
Also, it can’t be the filament because I was able to get that filament to load and use it in slot number two. But when I did load the filament that was in slot 2 into slot 3, it did the same thing where it went halfway and started blinking. …so why would it be clogged already?
Looks like they cheap-ed out on recent shipments. 1. Color samples are no longer there. 2 No tray to keep the tools 3. The screw drivers don't even come with plastic handle. Sad to see them do cost cutting like this.
mind me asking a question i noticed the purge tower how much does it wasthe filaments on? and when its purging in the tower does it skip the purging in the side of the panel with the flipper or whatever you wanna calll it?
Your video is very entertaining. Thanks man!
I appreciate the detailed yet simple assembly instructions. I bought this 3D printer for my daughter and I don't feel like reading the instructions. Straight to the point video. Keep it up! Thanks again!
its a good thing i bought filament or else id have nothing to print lol
I'm confused – it is my understanding that the AMS Lite goes with the A1 Mini – NOT the A1 – the A1 uses the AMS – NOT the AMS Lite
Just got this printer for my son and I to do projects with. Wish me luck!
Great tutorial, awesome projects, and fun to watch.
Did I miss the part where you explained how you knew which which filament role location went to which location on the printer? I saw that you put the two short ones on the left and two long ones on the right, but I don’t remember seeing any indication of how you knew where they’re supposed to go when you put them on the printer.
I love the information in your video (i really do), BUT, i. hate. it. when. you. tubers (youtubers). break. sentences. in. to (into). individual. words. (sometimes even in. dividual. syllables)! you. can. see. how. annoying. it. is. just. by. reading. this. comment! I. don't. know. who. started. it, but. now. EVERYONE. seems. to. be. doing. it!!! this. can. turn. great. content. in. to (into). ay (a). very. annoying. video. to. watch! Even, worse. is. so. many. you. tubers. have. started. ending. sentences. with. "AS. WELL."
I'd love to watch more of your videos, but if they're all going to do this I'll just have to look elsewhere, which is a pity because like I said, it's great content.
Just ordered one for my boys. (Me too 😅) saved your video for when I set this up for them on Christmas Eve. Brilliant video.
Can u download rpints from other sites/sources or does it have to be from bambu site only ?
You don't get the swatches anymore.
3:11 As of January 2026, the A1 no longer ships with:
– filament swatch samples
– small project and parts
– tools, fittings and supplies in a cardboard box (all in a plastic bag now)
– the Allen wrenches no longer have the plastic “T” molding; just bare metal “L” now
Additionally 4:04 there are no longer screws to remove on the bottom
