  1. I know I'm very late, but I have a question. Will a baby ball python do good in a tank as large as one for an adult or is it suggested to always have the tank match the size of the snake? From what I understand, snakes can become anxious whenever they have a tank too large, and I was thinking that I could just get a tank big enough for an adult and just put up a barrier to make it the appropriate size and move the barrier as the snake gets older, but doing that could make the cool and hot sides blend together.

  2. We just got a ball python adoption. Was not a fan until we actually got him and I am a fan now. Such a cool snake. Much nicer then my old bci. 😂.

  3. I'm about to get a ball python. I to agree that a 5 foot snake doesn't sound like it can fit in a 40 gallon terrarium. This vid helped a lot, thanks!

  4. Excuse me! I have a ball python, he's my first one, but I wasn't paying attention and it turned out, he had scale rot. I'm trying to fix it with a iodine bath, and it's working, but do you have anymore tips?

  5. Whatever ink brand your tat person uses is some great ink…very brite… Makes me want to get a new tat lol… Ask him ? Brand it is 👍😬🍀

  6. How would I go about mounting a bulb inside? Just bought a 4x2x2 for mine and I can't get the heat high enough

  7. Do you have a video talking / showing size for feeding rats and the de thawing process?

  8. I've tried finding that heat panel with no luck, What's a good alternative please ?

  9. Somebody said that they have their adult in a 20 gallon tank on tiktok and they said a ball python that doesn’t move is a happy one smh

  10. I think it makes perfect sense to give a fairly large snake a fairly large enclosure! I wouldn’t feel right wondering if my snake is cramped up and doesn’t have the option to move around if they feel like it.

  11. Great video! Trying to find out what brand of radiant heat panel would be the best though?

  12. If I got a baby Ball Python would it be ok to put it in the adult size tank? Would I need to buy multiple tanks or would the big tank be good for it to grow in?

  13. The only thing I think is I prefer feeding live when they get to the size of being able to eat live pinkies and up to larger rats as growth happens. But I’ve always stayed with my python during feeding making sure no harm came from a possible rat attack.

  14. I got the biggest enclosure I could get for my smaller male but my female does have a massive inclosure with lots of enrichment

  15. Can you please explain how to handle a ball python the way I handle mine makes her feel uncomfortable

  16. Really appreciate if u whould use metric system as well but Great video anyway

  17. So I got my 4 ft ball python in a 40 gallon vertical tank (18Lx18Wx36H). I realize he doesn’t have much ground room and he can physically only have one hide in his tank as well as a tiny water bowl. I got this for him in the first place because when he’s active, he’s always going up, and he has a spot to bask on a vertical log right under the 2 bulbs. I also use pet store cypress mulch but for some reason it dries out quickly. Was this a bad choice?

  18. I was wondering if you can use a small plastic tubs for kids to have as an enclosure for a Ball Python? (with adds on such as wall, flooring, etc…) Also IM SO JEALOUS of your room in the background! =D

  19. Can that size tank be used for a juvenile if you have proper cover or is it silly to start it off with something that big?

  20. I just got a ball python and i am so worried im doing stuff wrong. Ive heard that ive gotten the wrong substrate (ive gotten 2 different types). Im also worried hes always cold i wake up and see him laying right next to the heating pad. Does anyone have advice?

  21. Hey brother big fan. I think I have a solution for the Terrarium debate because you are big on suggestions that involve larger spaces for your reptiles to enjoy. Maybe express in the care guides the difference between behavior with larger enclosures and the idealization of what it means as a reptile keeper to prepare space in both your home and your husbandry requirements.

  22. can you touch on how to change a ball python that has been on live feed to thawed? the breeder i got my blue eyed lucy from has always been on live feed but i really want to switch her to thawed

  23. I have my 2yo baby "Houdini" and love him to pieces! I felt like a new parent worrying about everything at the beginning with him, but I'm learning to relax with time ^^

End of last year I had an absolut heart attack because for the first time, just before he was about to shed, I noticed his pinkish belly and I thought he might have somehow burned himself somewhere… turned out nope all was fine!

And now I fear he might have scale rot, because about 2 weeks ago I noticed a single small belly scale has a light yellowish tinge… everything in the enclosure is good I checked every parameter twice and so on… is it possible to have scale rot contained on 1 single scale… could he have somehow hurt himself??? It's not spreading, nothing, just slightly discolored since like 2 weeks now! Am I overreacting/panicking again?

He seems absolutely healthy and thriving, so I'm not FREAKING FREAKING out, just a little/lot concerned!

Any reptile veterans input more than welcome!

p.s. also after 2 years I'm still a little afraid to bravely grab him to get him out of the enclosure, when he more or less rapidly turns in my hands direction… I always let him sniff my hand (like a dog) and wait a few seconds till he seems to relax before I grab him x.x
he managed to strike my mom once when we woke him up in the middle of the day to try and feed him + we were in a hurry (I know STUPID AF, but he didn't wanna eat the 2 weeks prior and I started to get worried)

  24. Thank you for the informative vid! I can't wait to get my python this year! I'm hoping to get a black pastel, cinnamon, pumpkin pied or ghost morph :).

  25. ? I am setting up a 20 long for a ball python should I set up a heat mat under the hot hide and a ceramic heater as well. Or should I just use the ceramic top heater. Thanks

  26. I would like to breed my ball python with a reticulated python can that happen

  27. How would u get the cold side up to the appropriate heat bc my hot hide is sitting at 92 but the other side the cold side isn’t at what u recommend

  28. I'm really late on this video, but I'm trying to know everything I can before getting a cutie myself… i read somewhere that it's better to feed them outside of their enclosure so they dont confuse your hand for food when you try to handle them… does anyone have any opinions on that? ❤

  29. I have my baby in a 10 gallon for now came with the hide etc for $100 my plan is to build a 120 gallon out of pvc boards because ik 10 gallons ain’t enough but I pull him/her out as often as possible so he can stretch

  30. How big of an enclosure can I get for a baby/young ball python I hear 20 gal but some say you can do a big enclosure but clutter it

  31. Would you recommend a 120 gal for a baby snake because I thinking of getting one and I heard that you need to start of with a small enclosure?

  32. If I'm using a heating pad as a source of heat do I need to turn it off at night?

  33. I just moved my ball python into a bigger enclosure yesterday. I have all of the things listed, but when I came home he was just balled up in the middle of the enclosure not in either hide, and seemed stressed. Should I move him back to the smaller one for the time being, or do something in the bigger enclosure to help him feel better/more secure?

  34. Was told to keep it hotter than that …. 90 hot and 80 cold if not a little warmer

  35. I can relate to them not wanting to eat. The first 6 months i had my Ball Python, i could not get to eat for nothing. Now he's on 1 small rat every 2 weeks.
