Jokes on you I live in a termite mound
Personally, I’m sorry, but ain’t no way I’m getting that big of a tank, considering my ball python (Male) is in the smaller side
Just bought a new 75 for a ball I rehomed… Guess he’s getting another upgrade lol.
Hi Adam
🤘🍻🤘
Avid follower and appreciate your info.
Question…I used red bulb at night and white during the day when I got my python. She moved from hot to cool side during the day and night. Then I learned red light isn’t good.
So I switched to CHE and heat mat. Since then she has been in cold side for 2 weeks. She may venture out 1x a day but never to hot side. She used to be in hot side hide during the day, no more.
The cool side: 78/58%
The hot side: 84/57%
Hot side substrate is 85-88
Her hide is substrate is 88, but humidity is up in there as it’s here hide.
Is it a coincidence or is this normal and I am a newbie and over thinking it.
She eats fine. Can hold her and she is sweet. No RI symptoms etc.
Thanks for your thoughts in advance.
Quick question is it possible that my ball python will climb and explore more when he’s older? I don’t know his exact age, but he’s close to a year old (22 inches long).
How do I achieve a cool side if the room is over 27°C
The warm side is easy, but I would have trouble with getting a cool enough side in the enclosure.
You leave all the the time…everyday. hahaha hahaha 😭 waaaaahh.
you had me rolling with the mister clean look a like joke.
bold of you to assume that I leave my apartment every day.
jokes aside, thank you for the very informative video ♥
"You live in an apartment. Do you stay there, all day, every say? No! You leave! All the time! Every day!"
Bold of you to assume, sir. Bold of you to assume.
11:17 I wanted to get my first Ball Python back in 2020 but I realized it was a Leap Year and I couldn't figure out the feeding schedule. So I waited until 2022 because it's half way between the next one in 2024. #PoesLaw
Watching your video now bro I definitely respect and appreciate how you keep your snakes in a bigger enclosure
I’m loving your content. You’re informational with a chill philosophy and delivery. Pikachu is beautiful
Have you heard of Reptilinks, and if so, how do you feel about them? I know you mentioned that rodents are the ideal prey item for BPs, but if the food source is cased as a manageable size (like reptilinks), would you recommend that sort of diet?
honestly, this has been the most assured ive felt about how to take care of these little guys. Well done on the video. 2 things I'm missing:
1. if you made your enclosure, how'd you do it? or where did you buy enclosures that are large enough and not get ripped? or what materials do you look for in the enclosure.
2. I've tried feeding frozen to my ball and maybe one time out of 10 has he ever eaten, but i may just be recalling incorrectly. I can't seem to get him interested in frozen. he has gone weeks off of eating and he's exact same morph as your pikachu. with only having the one snake and feeding live you can see how frustrating him not eating could be for me. not much of a question there but concern.
Great video! If i can find an enclosure I might be able to actually take care of my python properly.
I'll still be keeping them in large totes or tubs but I am breeding them and I spend a ton of time with them out. I try to provide enough space for the snake to stretch out, I don't use lights at all, I provide ample hiding places in the containers and fake foliage. I never feed live animals and every baby I've bought so far has gone straight onto thawed mice then rats. I feed an appropriate sized meal, once a week.
Lovin' the tats Adam.
I'm not convinced fasting is a natural or healthy behavior in the wild.
Very interesting video, great job! But maybe you could also explain the active time of the animal. Are they day or night active? Is it possible to handle them sometimes on day even tho theyre night active, or should I only handle at night, and so on. 🙂
Great video, id argue 75 is bare minimum
I love the knowledgeable information you give! I really appreciate your channel! Keep it up!!!
I love Ball Pythons <3 so much fun to own 😀 my current setup is W125cm x L 50cm x H60cm for my adult male. he loves climbing so I have a lot of climbing stuff 🙂 He also doesn't care if he's out in the open but he has tons of enrichment 🙂

I'm thinking about getting a ball python. But i'm curious how much the setup would cost for the snake (Habitat and all that) aswell as the average yearly cost to feed and maintain a tank (I'm wanting to make a bio active enclosure, healthier for the snake and just looks cool)
And also, I'd love to see a video of you setting up a normal tank like someone like me (not much experience) would make with everything the snake needs
I always juse advance search for last month/year
I have a 75gal tank that it like a foot wide and like 4-5ft long, is that enough for a male
I only use uvb for a few minutes a few times a week when I need to bump up the humidity quickly, my house was made in 1940 so insulation sucks so im constantly making sure temperatures and humidity is good for my clown girl
I have a mojave/genetic stripe morph and I love him so much even when he is a butt and goes off feed or decides all he wants I'd asf's lol. Can you do a care guide on red eyed crocodile skinks? I would love to get some tips from you to give my guy the best life
I agree with the bigger cage theory would u want to be stuck in a 6ftx6ft cell
what about eggs? wen I was little my cousin knew someone who had, I think it was a ball python. he couldn't always get rats. and I remember him putting a couple of chicken eggs in the cage.
Love that you are not shy about telling folks about their enclosure size. Very much on the same page as you
Lmao I cracked up when he called himself a Mr clean look alike 😂
I like how you differentiate between minimum requirement and enjoyment level.
I do have a question tho. Can you start out with a big enclosure or does it need to be as big as shown in the video so they grow into it eventually??
You only need a 30 Galen tank
possibly adopting a ball python and I will be moving it from a 50gal to 6×4×4 or 4×2×2 ASAP 🙂
Ghi or banana
Hi I really need your help bro Im about to breed a piebald with a het clown in search of clown pied babies will I be disappointed on the results?
I have been asked how to be a good ballpython keeper many times and honestly its really just to not stop learning and evolving. Thats why i really appreciate that you update us on what has changed in the hobby! Its so important and you can just tell that your snakes are happy:)
My boy Helios (a lesser mojave and my pride and joy) is just about to move into a bigger tarrarium and im so exited to plan it all again:) i also really appreciate that you mentioned that they sometimes randomly go off feed. As much as i adore my noodle he also has that habit and i used to be so worried about it, back in the day but in winter he just likes to fast and eat only once ever month or so!
Thank you so much for your videos!
Do you have a link to the heater you were talking about? The panel thing?
jesus… 4x2x2 i dont have enough room for this ;( i got my baby banana in a 20 gallon atm.
I know this is an "older" video but it also depends on your snake. I tried adding a bunch of foliage, as recommended, when I moved him to a bigger tank. So he'd feel more comfortable. I never saw my snake again. He, before out and about climbing in his old tank, when I added the foliage he didn't move. Basically the opposite what you said about them not moving. He didn't move with foliage. When I took it out, he returned to changing hides and using his hammock.
I think, now having my ball a year, these are really great guidelines, but watch your snake. They're all different. Just like people. If what works for your snake is the exact opposite of the guidelines, do what's best for your snake. Don't take this out of context, 20% humidity is not a good thing no matter how much they thrive. But with 60% being the minimum but they're good with 50% don't stress. (Including shedding fine {doubt a good shed at 50%}) Know your snake. Where to start and see where they go.
Could an adult live in a wire tall vivarium with plants and accessoires they need? Thinking 1m70 high by 70cm x70 or more? Your view would be welcome
The moment you said 4x2x2 was the minimum I knew I was watching someone reliable. There’s so many sources of information and I stop watching anything the second a 40 gallon tank is recommended
Thank you for insisting that ball pythons deserve space. I just got a 3 months old and have her in a 40 gallon front opening and it feels small, so the idea of keeping a 6ft female in that same space is horrifying.
What are the genetics on the spider ball at 4:57 I have a boy who looks exactly like him and I'm trying to learn the color morphs
This vid is great I’m getting my first baby ball python
