  1. Question. I’ve heard it’s healthier to feed your adult red tail boa smaller more often rather then bigger less often. I’ve had my boa on that schedule since I got it and it’s doing great! Its going on 2 years old in April and about 6-7 ft long, Colombian red tail. I just wanna know your thoughts on that eating schedule because it’s completely different then what you showed

  2. Brilliant. Thank you. I have been hesitating to adopt a 2 year old being abandoned near. I thought I knew a lot already. Now I know I don't. Love Boas. Find them scary though.

  3. I'm planning to buy a pet common boa on March 10. This video will really help me out. Thanks

  4. It’s funny I’ve had my boa for almost a year now and I’m still watching care guides and other informational videos
Never stop learning my friends although your boa will teach you a lot about what they like mine prefers it to be cooler rather than warmer he still has a hot spot of 89-90 tho

  5. I haven’t taken interest in a specific species yet, but Boa’s are really taking my interest and heart! Two was the number I set for max but I’m trying to manoeuvre three after falling in love with two Boas lol!

  6. Can we talk about Brian's boss? I love the guy but somehow I think we are kenfolk. That 8head😂 bless his heart.😮

  7. I have come back to this video as well as Brian and a couple others since I picked up my Surinam about a month ago. So much useful information.

  8. One correction, don't keep your BCC exactly the way you keep your imperator and their mentality is pretty different as well. Common boas are a bit more forgiving with their requirements because they range a wider variety of climates and you'll find BCCs tend to be more prone to stress from mistakes in care they also require a lower basking temperature and higher average humidity closer to that of a Brazilian rainbow boa(considering they come from the same habitat it's not surprising). BCCs also tend to regurgitate often when the care isn't correct and they also will refuse to breed if you aren't doing things right. These are things that I didn't know when I got into boas initially and I'm glad I found a BCC breeder who could help me because misinformation could've cost me my first boa.

  9. Held a albino boa back in high-school she was a big girl fell inlove finally have a house of my own no just to save for the inclosure

  10. Not all ball pythons are nice. I had a female that was a crank. I want a Boa but I'd have to rearrange my house to fit the big enclosure he/she would need. I already have a Savanah monitor in a big enclosure and I know they couldn't live together. Anything that moves is monitor food. He tried to eat a cat and sizes up the dog too. He's not mean he just thinks he can eat everything. He's lovable around people.

  11. “How do you take care of one”
Me: release it to the wild. Problem solved.

  12. I just got 3 boas i saved them and they are really cool I’m trying to get one out of bad shed I’ve done a very good job so far but she’s in two sheds I’ve almost got it all slow but I think she knows I’m helping her very sweet girl

  13. Nahh, definitely not here re-watching most of your snake content… Again 😂
Thanks so much for making these videos!
PS: Boas have honestly the most gorgeous faces out of all the snakes out there, like, if any snake could be a model, it would be a boa ❤

  14. How are they with dogs in the house i have a german shepard and a beagle both to big to be eaten. But im wondering about if they still smell like food making the snake bitey

  15. Im confused as to the heating…seen so many saying no heat bulbs or CHE but heat mats but im getting a wooden viv so putting a heat mat inside is not a good idea.. shes a Kahl sunglow BCI born may of this year so i dont know whats best to go with regarding heating the enclosure. Im from the UK so can get chilly but my snake room doesnt usually drop much lower than 75f i have several ball pythons and quite a few corn and kings all have either CHE or basking bulbs …but im a first time owner of a BCI…so what do suggest as a heat source for 3ft x18inx18ins wooden viv for her starter home thanks

  16. I know this sounds stupid but… I have not owned a snake before though I am getting one soon, I want a boa, either a Wild type or an albino boa constrictor I really could care less about if I get one with a morph or not, I like heavy-bodied snakes that are slow and don't dart around boa's were also the first snake to catch my eye when I first started liking snakes

  17. Sadly I can't keep one because i live in Hamburg, Germany and snakes that can and regularly grow longer than 3 metres need special permits but who knows, maybe i'll get a permit

  18. I have 4 different morphs and they each have their own personality and are awesome snakes. Unfortunately I've not had good luck with ball pythons hunger striking. 😢

  19. i work at a local pet/reptile shop in my area and we have 3 "store pets" a redfoot cherry head toirtoise (Penelope) , an albino nelsons milksnake (spaghetti noodle) we also had a chinese water dragon (Atlas) who unfortunately passed away in november of last year, and a hypo salmon BCI, her name is Rosie and I'd trade the whole world for her, unfortunately her enclosure is a bit too small (my estimate is around 5ftLx2ftWx3ftH, it was custom built) but she is a pretty small girl at only around 7-8ft as she was a surrender/rescue shes a bit stunted, sjes around 10-12 years old so mostly grown, but she is the sweetest baby in the entire world, eats like a dream, handles with no problems and is just such a joy to work with♡

  20. Wow did you get bitten by Lucy? 😮😮😮 your forearms 😮😮😮😮 beginning of this vlog

  21. I subscribe when you referred us to the other gentlemen… people don't do that no morr

  22. Love the price conversion 😂 I'm have a juvenile in a 4x2x2 pvc. I want to upgrade him to a 6x3x3 once he gets bigger but I'm having a hard time even finding anywhere in Canada that 1) sells that size and 2) will ship it

  23. A note on the affordability of boas – the snake itself might be cheap but 4-5 years down the line be prepared to spend A LOT for a large enclosure that will provide a good standard of care at their fully grown size

  24. My boa is about 4 and a half foot and perfect size. Should i keep him on medium rats or should i move up to large?

  25. Can you recommend a hydrometer to place inside the cage that will stand up to being misted to display temp and humidity

  26. What’s up man .. I’ve had my Male BCI for 3 years now since a baby.. he’s never bit me before but decided to take a nip at me the other day .. he is getting a lot bigger too so it’s becoming intimidating a bit because he’s very active and moves a lot before picking him up now.. I’ve worn sweaters and gloves to keep a little more confident and he’s been ok .. but I don’t want to keep wearing them to hold him lol .. like I said he moves a lot and is always trying to get away .. let me know what you think greatly appreciated man

  27. I’m about to get my first boa and I’m getting a smaller tank around 40 gallons, and how do I get a good hotspot in there without taking up to much room?

  28. Thank you for the care guide. I spent a few months doing research and I just got my 2 month old BCI at a reptile expo! I named them Saturn, and am now doing another run through of all the care guides just to be 100% sure im doing this right. Thank you again!

  29. Ive had my boa in a bioactive fully planted enclosure since he was a baby. Ive never had problems with uprotting plants except one time he hated a specific plant so i took it out and never had problems again. Currently my boy is just shy of 5 feet and i have him in a 4×2×4 enclosure and i gave him fake trees and branches all over the place and as im writing this a 6 am hes climbing up and down and exploring every inch. He loves how tall it is and it makes me so happy to see him climbing around and sleeping in the branches. I definetly got lucky that hes so gentle with plants. Me and my wife recently got a new boa that a few months old so im hoping he takes after his big brother😅

  30. Does this apply for red tail boas? My sister got one without researching what they need so I'm trying to get the best information so he lives a healthy life.

  31. I have a 2 year old boa and she is about 4 feet long healthy and a good eater. For some reason I would say 90% of the time she swallows her backwards tail first instead of head first. I have tried taking it away and turn it around but she coils and clamps down so that is happening. Do you run into this with any of your boas? What do you suggest?
I have ordered a 5’ cage but that hasn’t arrived yet.

  32. Thanks for the vid. I've been keeping snakes for many years (have balls, hogs, and an albino burm currently). I have 3 Suriname boas in the mail today and can't wait to get back into boas. I've had BIs in the past, but have always wanted Surinames.
