i got a nicaraguan boa like a week this video was published, perfect timing! and i’m still nervous around him, he just looks a lot meaner than my bps and my corn. he’s 4 years old but only 3.5feet long. so far he’s been pretty chill, he did bite me but it’s bc i handled a mouse and didn’t wash my hands properly 🤦♀️ anyways, the one thing i did not expect for some reason was how much they move. my guy is on the move non stop when i handle him. its pretty intimidating 😅

Please 🙏 stop recommending out dated heat methods. Deep heat projectors and heat bulbs are the only heat sources that effectively warm up reptile’s internal temps. Other methods, such as heat pads or panels and CHE’s dont pierce through reptile skin and scales to warm up the internal temps effectively.
I’ve had my juvenile banana ball python for 8 months now, (I’m sure he/she is at least 10-12 months old) anyways, I find it interesting to hear multiple sources talk about their picky eating habits and hunger strikes. I’ve yet to have my ball python turn down a single meal. Guess I’m just lucky! A side note though I’d really love to get a Hog Island Boa! I live in an apartment so the smaller boa is appealing. I just hope my gf would agree to a second snake…

BC covers so many more boas than just true red Tails. True red Tails are only under the subspecies boa constrictor constrictor(Bcc). But there are also Bco Bca Bcl Bcn, none of which are considered true red Tails..

About a year ago I bought my boa imperator Juno, I used to watch your channel a lot for tips and tricks, now I mainly just watch you because you make good content. I think boa's make better pets than ball pythons. Yes boa's get big, but honestly that (+ the cost that could potentially come with size) is the only negative I can think of. They're super docile, have a good but not too agressive feeding response. My girl is 3 years now and she's about 150-160 cm/+- 5 ft. She's on jumbo rats now and does just fine on one of those every 2/2.5 weeks. She's had mites (came with her from the store that I bought her in and she responded very well to the treatment. She's absolutely gorgeous and I want to thank you for showing me that boa's can make great beginner pets. I love her to bits.

So serious question here, iv got a new pvc on the way… I also got an 80w radiant heat panel. Is it necessary to use a heat mat too or is it okay to just use a heat panel inside the enclosure?
I know a lot of ppl dislike heating using CHE. But I do. I’m constantly misting substrate because I know the CHE dries everything out. My question is. Hot side is always at 87-93. Cold side is 76-79. My issue is I use a mesh top and the hide I use collects heat. Using a digital thermometer reader. The only HOT spot is on top of the hide. The reading gets to 108 on top of his hide but 88 inside of his hide. Should I be worried about this high temp on top of the hide only ?

I have a Nicaraguan dwarf boa and she’s in a 4x2x2 planted bio active and she’s super active and she interacts with everything so she’s super fun to watch but I’m replanting the plants all the time😂😅

Just took home a big male 6’ an heavy. Its very cold in my house rite now his hot spot is 90 an ambient goes to 74. Hes in a animal plastic 4x2x18. Is this ok considering its 20 degrees outside.
