  1. Wanna NASTY, DARTY, VERY FAST SNAKE with a really COOL 😎 MEAN looking 😡 FACE that literally JUMPS at your face and tries too BITE it? Get A COACHWHIP you will NOT 🚫 be disappointed at all whatsoever!

  2. I was born in and live my entire life in a city whitin the range of boa constrictor. One have appeared on my garage, I helped one cross the street once. Here we have 20°C+ (30°C+ to ~10°C) drops of temperature during some weeks in the winter. Regularly we have 15°C drops, even in the summer. I am not saying this is healthy or that we should replicate this in captivity only "because it happens in nature". I'm just saying don't generalize central/south climate based on one week on Costa Rica :p Keep in mind that when a species has a very wide distribution (like bc), it will most likely be subjected to a wide range of climates as well.

  3. Where I live reptiles r 10 times the price in the us or Canada for example a normal ball python goes for 500 usd n a normal bearded dragon goes for around 1500 usd nor special morphs

  4. Not thinking of getting any kinds of bias in the near future (not allowed to have snakes and also not enough space) but great video as always!
Off topic, but I found a really bad video. I’m sharing it in comment sections of all of my favorite YouTubers so that maybe some people could see it and report the video! https://youtube.com/shorts/_zsFRox7Gko?feature=share

  5. One addition I'm doing to all my PVC enclosures, ad a Computer fan ($10-$11 Amazon). cut a 3 inch hole in the back, on the outside glue the PVC to the enclosure and offer a low, constant airflow, now this takes down the humidity, so I have to ad water more often, However the noodles seem to thrive better, and VERY cost effective means of providing a better environment. anyone curious, dm me and I'll provide the link and or photo of the fan I'm using, very safe and nice circulation for our reptiles. just adding to this already great post. And I am a seasoned snake owner. Greatly appreciate these videos and always continue learning myself form videos such as yours. 😉

  6. I was hoping you could make a video ive been watching some of your older content and I was wondering if you ever did a video on what reptiles do the best in a bioactive tropical enclosure. I have a 40 gallon tank that I'm currently using for my bearded dragon but will be upgrading him to a 120 gallon soon. and I need something to use in thay enclosure it can be a frog lizard or snake

  7. Awesome video, thanks for sharing! I always find your videos fun and easy to watch, lots of info without bombarding the viewer with way too many details. I'm hopefully a few months away from getting my first boa. They are the best snakes ever, and BCIs are the perfect size in my eyes, huge and beautiful but still manageable.

  8. Your care guides are so accessible & visually interesting! One of my goals is to some day adopt an older big boa as a lot of them get re-homed because people aren't prepared for their size. I am so excited to get to build/decorate a big enclosure for one of these guys 😍

  9. I just have to say out of my four snakes my hog island boa was the pickiest. When I first bought him , he was eating adult mice, when get became bigger I tried to switch him over small rats, he would not eat them , but was so frustrated I tried an adult mouse to see if he would eat it and soon enough he at it. So the next time, I placed a mouse in the same bag as a small rat and let it thaw out together. Then my hog island actually ate it, so now I just thaw out my mice with a rat make sure he eats

  10. Let’s make a enclosure set up! I wish those videos did better bc it’s nice watching them

  11. I have had a boa for 2 years and love it. Definitely pick use this list as a reference, but observe your snake and see their preferences. For example, my boa very much prefers the cold side and only moves over to his hot spot under his RHP to soak or drink despite hides being available. I lowered the temp and increased the humidity and I’ve seen him use the 4×2’s space much more often.

  12. Dude, I can’t tell you how perfect this is… I literally just ordered my first BCI and waiting on her to arrive ! (Yes I’ve already done my research) So synchronistic !!! Love it Adam!!!! Thank you!

  13. Interesting video as always. Enclosure set up might be interesting, so would the burmese python careguide that you teased a little while ago.

  14. I don't plan to get a snake any time soon (my brother lives with me, and he has a 3 year old son. so my brother doesn't want to take any chances of either my nephew getting bitten, or my nephew crushing a snake to death, or just simply having the kid leave the cage open and then we lose the snake and/or it eats my brother's girlfriend's pug), but I do like boas, and if I ever get one later in a few years, I was thinking more like a Rosy. But the Hog Island's sound like a pretty decent one to consider as well.

Also, I am going to keep asking for a video series on "best reptiles to go in (insert size here) screen enclosures" until it happens. Make it happen Adam. Make it happen.

  15. My dream set up is two ball pythons (partially to avoid wasting a rat if one is off feed) and a bci. Call me boring, but I don't have ANY snakes right now, and I just love the heavy-bodied (but not HUGE) snakes.

  16. Dude please get a hold and watch lord elion's video released today about an angry dragon. It is in a tank with a half inch perlite mix in some areas and maybe an inch in others. People will watch him and think it's the correct way. I know you will see what I mean and he should know better as a content provider/breeder. I can only assume he was just too arrogant to do proper research.

  17. Excellent. Boas have rapidly become my favorite snake. I love my BPs and Colubrids too., But boas are where I gravitate to when I'm in my snake room. They all have very different attitudes too. Some are Sweet. Some, not so much and everything in between. They are just great medium expensive level and up snakes.
    Appreciate your videos.

  18. i call my redtail boa… "dust bin"… because she is guaranteed to eat, whatever meal my ball pythons may refuse haha
No rodent ever goes to waste, when you own a boa

  19. Hey can you do a care Guide on reticulated pythons i just got a platinum sunfire and she is beautiful 😍 I sold my two ball pythons to get her I’ve been doing a little bit of research but I love your videos and your knowledge from actually owning them thanks 😊

  20. Had my boa for over 25 years, he was so awesome! I miss him but I passed the custom enclosure i had built on to someone else and know it's made another snake happy! Don't skimp on size, Bilbo climbed a lot and loved to stretch out.

  21. There's also locality specific morphs, like pure Nic T+ Sunglows that are insane as adults, or Pure Sonoran Leopards. Tarahumara Mountain Boas, Crawl Cay and Caulker Cay are the smallest localities for anyone interested. Paraguana Pennisula (possibly between BCC and BCI) and Venezuelan are some of the smallest BCCs. Cutting Edge Herpetological has breakdowns of many localities as Vin Russo was breaking ground with Rio Bravo/Rich Ihle and VPI on most of this stuff as early as the 90s and before.

Also the modern breakdown as separate species, Imperator Sigma and Constrictor, was done on like 70 snakes in a limited number of collections so locality names are used for stuff that's probably distinct enough and will probably be broken down much further in the years to come. (Yeah, locality names are probably more specific than species name, at least for boas lol)

  22. Your Hog Island is beautiful. I very much want a pair at some point, along with some other dwarf localities that will do well in a 120q tub or melamine setup, give or take. Also awesome you shouted out Brian Boas! He's the best, at least for boa specific stuff. Jason is great too!

  23. If love to see a boa enclosure build! A boa will be my next snake, and I'd love to see how you keep them!

  24. I got one boa, and then promptly got like 3 more 😂 I love them. I love them so much. They’re my absolute favorite snake species, along with Brazilian rainbows.

  25. your temps are kind of high…many locality have the gene plasticity to handle a bit cooler temps and many even prefer it
