I've tried over and over to install windows 10 via usb flash drive exactly as described and all I ever get is an error code and no operating system found to start reboot press any key …..so I do and it does exactly the same thing again …over and over . If I hold down F12 when I start up I go into the venues and I can see that usb drive is enabled . So I don't know what to do .

Dont forget, if you dont have a usb thumb drive, but you have two ≥8gb storage devices, you can do the same.

If someone has a computer that was donated to them, and the operating system is far out of date, for instance, today in 2024 the computer is running windows 8.1.. how could one upgrade it system for free when it’s no longer supported by supported by Microsoft

You need to go to UEFI first and change the boot sequence to flash drive

I've done this. The windows install wizard won't recognize that the drive is a GPT partition. When I check the drive on another computer, it says that it is a GPT partition.
